If you need to turn off Persistent Connections to your mysql database in v3.0+, then please follow these instructions...

The mysql connect string is located in the classes.inc.php file

If your file is encoded, then you'll have to contact support for the non-encoded file before you can edit it.

Open the file in a text editor, then search for: mysql_pconnect

Then remove the letter 'p' from the 'pconnect' part and save the file. Then upload the modified file to the /locator/include folder and overwrite the existing.

This is the only location of code that controls how the mysql connection is made, so changing it here should affect the entire system.
